Forward Church Basics - Our Beliefs

At Forward Church, it is believed that:

The Bible is God's Word. God wrote it through men. It is accurate, powerful, and completely relevant. (2 Timothy 3:16)

God created the world and all it contains. (Genesis 1:1, Revelation 4:11)

God created human beings in His image. (Genesis 1:27)

God eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Sin has separated each of us from God and Jesus Christ is the only one able to reconcile us with God. (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:8-9)

A relationship with Jesus Christ begins as we repent of our sins, believe in Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.

Jesus was born to a virgin mother, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for our sins, and was resurrected from the dead. He conquered sin and death so that we may live a victorious and empowered life. (Matthew 1:22-23, Hebrews 7:26, 1 Corinthians 15:3-5)

We need to be baptized in water and be filled by the power of the Holy Spirit in order to live victoriously and abundantly. The Holy Spirit actively instructs us and enables us to use the gifts of the Spirit. (Romans 6:3-6, Galatians 3:27, 1 Corinthians 12:1-31)

The Church exists to make Jesus Christ famous and known across the Earth, with Jesus being the Head of it.

Jesus will be returning for His Church just as He has promised.

Heaven and Hell are two real eternal destinations. Our response to Jesus Christ alone will determine our own personal destination.
